Optimizing Mobile Testing using AppiumLibrary
2025-02-13 , RoboCon

Discover our approach on building a successful mobile automation pipeline using Jenkins, AppiumLibrary and SauceLabs to enhance the testing process in a real-world project, demonstrated in the context of the “Telematik App” by HUK-Coburg.

Our setup enables nightly runs on Jenkins, utilizing Appium for cross-platform testing and SauceLabs for testing on real devices.

In this talk we will provide an overview of our journey in building a successful mobile automation project using the AppiumLibrary, which will cover the following aspects:
1. Implementation of keywords for Cross-Platform Testing: how we designed and implemented a keyword-driven framework that enables seamless testing across both iOS and Android platforms
2. Integration of SauceLabs: outlines our strategy of using SauceLabs to run tests on a diverse range of real devices, including our challenges and how we dealt with them
3. Setting Up Jenkins for Nightly Runs: how we set up Jenkins to automate nightly runs for both platforms
